ASU Volleyball: Sun Devils open season with pair of wins over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Cal Poly

Arizona State (2-0) volleyball started the season off right. The Sun Devils swept Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (0-2) and Cal Poly (0-2) on Friday as part of the Sun Devil Classic.

The Sun Devils truly couldn’t have came out the gates better than they did. In the 3-0 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (25-17, 25-13, 25-11), Arizona State set the highest hitting percentage (.476) in program history in the rally-scoring era.

Marta Levinska and Iman Isanovic, the usual suspects on the outside, combined for 23 kills to lead the way for the Sun Devils.

Three newcomers; Claire Jeter, Andi Kreiling and Beatrice Badini — all play middle blocker, the biggest positional question mark for Arizona State — made quick impressions as all three got the start.
