ASU Soccer: Sun Devils can’t overcome early Washington goal

For an 86-minute stretch the two teams saw zero goals. Arizona State (6-5-2, 0-3-1 Pac-12) found itself on the wrong side of the scoreless end of the match in Seattle. The Sun Devils conceded a fourth-minute goal to Washington (7-3-2, 3-1-0) and never found the equalizer in Thursday’s 1-0 loss to the Huskies.

Washington midfielder Isabella Castro received a ball from defender Lisa Jensen down the left part of the attacking side for the Huskies. Castro sent in a cross that turned around the pair of Sun Devil defenders in the box. The ball found Olivia Van Der Jagt with a bit of open space to fire in the score.
