Former Arizona State forward/defender Jemma Purfield has signed a two-year contract with the Bristol City Women’s Football Club in southwest England.
A team nicknamed “The Robins’ that competes in the highest tier of the FA Women’s Super League, Purfield joins the club after spending the past season with Liverpool, where she appeared in eight matches.
Purfield transferred to Arizona State from South Alabama after two seasons in college, and she joined the Sun Devils during the 2017 season, following coach Graham Winkworth (who previously coached at USA) from Mobile to Tempe.
