The Sun Devils continued their preparation for the Aug. 29 opener against Kent State by spending part of Monday's two-hour practice against the scout team.
This was the 16th practice, the first being held on July 31.
Leading off
"I thought it was a crisper practice today. First day you have the developmental guys and there is always a little bit of chin-dropping and you anticipate that. I tell them, 'Look, you're not a blocking dummy — go compete.' That's how you dress around here. It's always competitive. They understand that. For the most part I thought it was a pretty good practice.
