With 40.8 seconds left in the game, the Arizona State men’s hockey team had a sweep of the No. 4 team in the country slip out of their hands when Denver’s Cole Guttman gutted a surprise equalizing goal.
Tied 2-2, the late score would send the game into overtime.
During the five minutes of OT, Denver came out for a revenge win after Friday night's loss, displaying an aggressive offense that totaled 11 shots. The Sun Devils’ defense remained locked and alert, including sophomore goalie Evan DeBrouwer who made 44 saves during the entirety of the game.
