Arizona State linebacker coach Antonio Pierce singles out one play that typifies the athlete he has in true freshman Darien Butler. The Sun Devils were in the opening moments of the second half two weeks ago at San Diego State and Butler took out a guard that outweighed him by nearly 100 pounds.
“He knocked him back so far he bumped into the ball carrier,” Pierce said. “And Butler came up to make the tackle. That pretty much says it all.
