After reeling in a 21-man 2018 signing class without a quarterback, Arizona State head coach Herm Edwards landed a gunslinger as his first 2019 commit.
Rated a three-star by 247Sports, Quarterback Ethan Long of West Linn High School (Oregon) committed to ASU during his official visit on Monday morning. Long called it “a dream come true.”
The 6-foot-2, 212-pound signal caller passed up offers from Utah and Ivy League schools such as Dartmouth, Columbia and Brown, among others. 247Sports rated him the 70th best pro-style QB in the nation and 12th-best player in Oregon.
Long passed for 3,102 yards with 32 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in his first season as a starter his junior year.
