A key Arizona State player suffered a significant injury at spring football practice.
ASU head coach Herm Edwards announced after practice on Thursday in Tempe that receiver John Humphrey will have surgery for an Achilles injury and will miss the season.
ASU held its fifth spring football practice on Thursday and is scheduled to be back on the field on Friday.
