The Arizona State Sun Devils (2-0) defeated the Michigan State Spartans (1-1) Saturday night in Tempe by a score of 16-13 on a walkoff 28-yard field goal from Brandon Ruiz.
The Sun Devils remain undefeated against Big 10 opponents at home, and stormed back from a 13-3 deficit to win in the final seconds.
Both defenses excelled in the first half, as the Sun Devils held Michigan State to a field goal and the Spartans kept ASU off the scoreboard.
After a scoreless first quarter, Michigan State moved the ball down the field and scored the first points of the contest on a 37-yard field goal from sophomore kicker Matt Coghlin.
