With a better-than-expected start by most, Arizona State is 2-0 and ranked (No. 25 in Amway coaches poll, No. 23 in AP) going into its road opener on Saturday at San Diego State (1-1).
ASU leads the series 10-1-1 but lost at home 30-20 to the Aztecs last year. The tie was in 1951 (27-27). One of the more memorable games in the series was in 2002 when QB Andrew Walter rallied ASU from a 22-point deficit for a 38-29 win in San Diego.
