Katy High School defensive end Michael Matus committed to Arizona State via his Twitter page on Monday evening.
The 6-foot-2, 230-pound class of 2018 recruit is rated a three-star and the 35th best defensive end in the nation by Rivals. Matus is considered a three-star prospect by both Scout and 247 Sports.
Matus ran a 4.87 40-yard dash and was timed 4.20 on his 20-yard shuttle, which earned the fastest time in the nation, according to ESPN.
The Katy, Tex. native had received other offers from seven other schools including North Texas and Louisiana Monroe.
