The stars seem to be aligning for coach Bobby Hurley's Arizona State Sun Devils to do something special this season.
They would have advanced to the NCAA postseason for a third straight time had the 2019-20 season not been shut down by the coronavirus pandemic. That was last done at ASU in 1663.
Hurley went out and got Marcus Bagley, younger brother of the Sacramento Kings Marvin Bagley and one of the top 50 high school players in the country.
Then he secured the services of Joshua Christopher, a recruit ranked in the top 10 and the highest rated player the school has ever landed.
