The game featured two strong starting pitching performances for both teams with southpaw Connor Higgins taking the loss in the 11th inning of the game.
ASU jumped out of the gates early on with freshman Spencer Torkelson adding on to his record-setting home run total with his 13th home run on the year to put the Sun Devils ahead in the first.
In the bottom of the inning, it was sophomore right-handed pitcher Alec Marsh who took the mound for ASU. Marsh struggled early on allowing an RBI triple and an RBI single to back-to-back batters to allow Washington State to take the lead 2-1.
