Fairfield baseball overcame a 5-0 deficit Sunday to beat Arizona State 9-7 in an NCAA regional elimination game.
Justin Guerrera’s 13th homer, a three-run shot to left field, put Fairfield ahead in the sixth in Austin, Texas.
Fairfield (39-3) advanced to the regional final against No. 2 national seed Texas (44-15) on Sunday night, needing that win and another Monday to win the regional.
Texas is 2-0 in its home regional, beating ASU 10-3 in a winner’s bracket game Saturday.
ASU’s season ends at 33-22 after splitting regional games with Fairland and its loss to Texas.
