ASU baseball holds off No. 18 Arizona 14-13 to even rivalry series

TUCSON – Arizona State baseball gave up multiple leads Tuesday but scored four runs in the ninth inning and held on for a 14-13 win over No. 18 Arizona.

The first three ASU batters reached in the ninth on walks around Lyle Lin single then Robby Medel, UA's eighth pitcher, hit Tyler Williams to score the lead run for Williams' career high fourth RBI. Carter Aldrete singled in two more insurance runs, also giving him a career best four RBIs.

Lin had a career best four hits. Eder Erives (1-3) pitched the final 1 2/3 innings for his first win of a difficult senior season, helped by a stellar catch by Williams in the ninth when the Wildcats scored three runs and had the tying run on first.
