Aiacoboae EarnsPac-12 Diver of Month, First ASU Woman Since 2009

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Pac-12 Conference announced their swimmer and diver's of the month for January on Wednesday afternoon and sophomore Mara Aiacoboae was named the women's diver of the month.

The honor becomes the first for an ASU women's diver since Elina Eggers in December of 2009 and just the third all-time. It is also Aiacoboae's first diver of the month award.

The Romanian-native earned first place in four of her six diving events during the month of January, with sweeping victories in all three 1-meter events against Wyoming, Stanford and Cal.

Through her sophomore season, Aiacoboae has placed first in 11 of the 15 dual meet events so far this season.
