Two-way Buckeye baseball player Brandon Compton said he broke his commitment to the University of San Diego to commit to playing for Arizona State.
ASU hired former Sun Devils standout Willie Bloomquist to replace Tracy Smith after ASU's season ended in Texas in an NCAA regional.
"When I found out recently that the ASU baseball coaches had interest in me, I realized that this might be a huge opportunity," said Compton, a left-handed pitcher and outfielder, who is heading into his senior year. "So, I reached out to the coach, and we began to develop a relationship.
