#34 Women’s Tennis Takes #10 UCLA to the Wire

TEMPE - No. 34 ASU (10-6, 3-3 Pac-12) played to a close loss against No. 10 UCLA (12-3, 6-0 Pac-12) Friday afternoon at the Whiteman Tennis Center. The Sun Devils lost 4-3 to the Bruins, but celebrated a trio of hard-fought victories in singles play. The loss was ASU's first at home this season.

"Obviously you never like to lose but I thought we competed really well," head coach Sheila McInerney said. "Our kids gave it all they could, no question about it. Sammi and Cali both won the first game, lost the second, then lost a tough three-setter, Lauryn played well, Marianna played really well and obviously Domi won, so like I said you hate to lose but I'm proud of the way we competed.
