For better or for worse, Zack Greinke reported to spring training this week, threw his first official bullpen session of camp and met with the media on Wednesday morning, a sort of de facto beginning to his second season with the Diamondbacks.
The mood was different from when he first met with reporters a year ago. Fresh off signing a record-setting six-year, $206.5 million contract, Greinke last February was a representation of optimism, a sought-after ace brought in to help lead the club to the postseason.
But on Wednesday, he sat at an outdoor table at Salt River Fields and answered questions about his down, injury-plagued year.
