Zac Gallen returned from injury and pitched like the Zac Gallen he's been since becoming part of the Arizona Diamondbacks' starting rotation two seasons ago, but the Diamondbacks still lost 7-5 to the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday afternoon at Chase Field.
The A's scored seven unanswered runs after trailing 5-0 through three innings, and sent the Diamondbacks (4-8) to their fifth loss in seven games.
Gallen, activated from the 10-day injured list before the game after dealing with a hairline stress fracture in his right forearm, was on a pitch count in his first start of the season.
