Uneasy clubhouse after Diamondbacks make major mid-season changes

The Diamondbacks arrived at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday still grappling with the ramifications and emotions of their club’s trade-deadline selloff the day before. Their front office decided their season was likely a lost cause. The players are still hoping they can prove otherwise.

With their record sitting at 14-21, their playoff odds a tick below 7 percent and four veteran players subtracted from the roster – center fielder Starling Marte, closer Archie Bradley and lefties Robbie Ray and Andrew Chafin – the Diamondbacks tried to embark on the final 25 games of their season with the same attitude as before.
