At 7-7, the Arizona Diamondbacks are already three games better than they were at this time last year. A major reason for this has been the performance of their starting pitching. As I have written previously, the rotation is the shakiest part of the team, in my opinion. And while that still may be the case over the course of a 162 game season, there is no doubt that the five starters are a big reason why the D’backs have gotten off to such a positive April.
Although he posted a subpar first two outings, Josh Collmenter rebounded on Friday to record the Majors’ first complete game shutout.
