Justin Turner started the game by drawing a walk from Madison Bumgarner. He then managed to steal second during a Mookie Betts at-bat. He then scored on a single by Cody Bellinger. Just like that, the Dodgers were out in front with David Price getting ready to take the mound. This felt very much like the last outing between these two starting pitchers. Given Arizona’s recent woes, watching the Dodgers pull away while the Padres creep closer felt like a real possibility.
Then Bumgarner settled in. After allowing that one run to score, the veteran lefty only allowed two hits and two walks.
