SEATTLE (AP) -- The slumping Seattle Mariners have acquired Mark Trumbo from the Arizona Diamondbacks as part of a six-player trade in the hopes of boosting their struggling offense.
The two teams announced the trade on Wednesday after each had finished off day games. The Mariners lost 3-1 to the Yankees, while the Diamondbacks beat Atlanta 9-8.
Seattle landed Trumbo and left-handed pitcher Vidal Nuno in exchange for backup catcher Wellington Castillo, right-handed pitcher Dominic Leone and minor league prospects Gabby Guerrero and Jack Reinheimer.
