"I felt like the ball was coming out pretty good," Ray said. "I mixed in some good offspeed. Overall, I felt like it was good."
The D-backs gave Ray a lead to work with in the first when Gregor Blanco led off with a triple and scored on David Peralta's groundout. Later in the inning, Jake Lamb's triple brought home Brandon Drury, who had singled.
The runs came against Giants starter Ty Blach, who is battling for the No. 5 spot in the club's rotation. Blach gave up five hits and struck out four over 2 2/3 innings after allowing one run in his first three outings of the spring.
