Prospect J.B. Bukauskas shows tantalizing potential at Diamondbacks camp

J.B. Bukauskas’ outings have not lasted long this spring. He has entered games, pumped strikes and recorded outs. Little else has occurred in-between.

In the span of two-plus weeks of games, Bukauskas has turned himself into one of the more tantalizing arms in Diamondbacks camp. Acquired from the Houston Astros in the Zack Greinke trade two years ago, Bukauskas, 24, is a hard-throwing right-hander who is reputed to have some of the best pure stuff in the organization.

He also has had difficulty harnessing it, making too many mistakes both in and out of the strike zone.
