Arizona Diamondbacks outfielders David Peralta and Kole Calhoun were named finalists Thursday for Gold Glove awards. Both have previously won the award once in their careers.
Peralta, a finalist in left field, won the award last season. He will be up against the St. Louis Cardinals’ Tyler O’Neill and the Cincinnati Reds’ Shogo Akiyama.
Calhoun, a right fielder, is one of four finalists at that position. He is up against the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Mookie Betts, the Colorado Rockies’ Charlie Blackmon and the Chicago Cubs’ Jason Heyward.
Traditionally, the awards have been determined by votes from managers and coaches in their respective leagues.
