Shortstop Nick Ahmed won his second Gold Glove in as many years and left fielder David Peralta won the first of his career on Sunday, a night in which four players with Diamondbacks connections brought home defensive hardware.
Only Ahmed’s came as no surprise. He is widely regarded as one of the better defenders in the majors, and he had another terrific year, leading major league shortstops with 18 defensive runs saved.
Ahmed, who is rangy, sure-handed and possesses a strong arm, also continued to develop at the plate in 2019, posting a career-best .
