Diamondbacks affiliates won seven out of nine games played, with Reno and the AZL D-backs both playing double headers, and the Dominican Summer league teams having the day off.
Joel Payamps start wasn’t terrible, but the Aces couldn’t score more than one run. Payamps pitched five innings, and gave up three runs (two earned) on four hits, two walks, a wild pitch and a balk, while striking out seven. Jimmy Sherfy pitched a scoreless seventh inning.
The Aces were limited to just four hits and a walk, with the lone run coming on a Christian Walker solo homer.
