To get things going at Chase Field in a pivotal Game 5 meeting between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Philadelphia Phillies, 23-time gold medalist Michael Phelps is scheduled to throw out the first pitch.

From the Diamondbacks website: ‘The ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by the most decorated Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps, who holds a total of 28 medals, including 23 gold medals. An Arizona local, he is the founder of the Michael Phelps Foundation, dedicated to growing the sport of swimming and promoting healthy lifestyles.’

While Phelps was technically born and raised in Baltimore, which makes him partly an Orioles fan, he did move over to Tempe to train at Arizona State University back in 2015.
