New pitching coach Matt Herges comes to the Diamondbacks with some level of fluency in the new technology and data that has changed the game. But he doesn’t come with all the answers, a quality that drew him to manager Torey Lovullo during the just-completed interview process.
“I thought he was really eager to take what he didn’t know and learn about it,” Lovullo said on a conference call Thursday.
