CHICAGO -- The D-backs bolstered their bullpen by acquiring right-handed reliever David Hernandez from the Angels on Monday in exchange for Minor League right-hander Luis Madero.
Hernandez has a 2.23 ERA this year in 38 games for the Angels this season.
This will be Hernandez's second stint with the D-backs after compiling a 3.54 ERA for them from 2011-15.

Madero, 20, was a combined 4-2 with a 5.69 ERA in nine starts for Class A Hillsboro and Rookie-level Missoula.
