Game day: Pollock back in lineup as D-Backs try to avoid sweep vs. Dodgers

One day after Clayton Kershaw shut them down, the next lefty in the Dodgers’ rotation, Alex Wood, turned in near carbon-copy performance on Wednesday night.

Wood fired seven scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and two walks while striking out 10. In two games, the Diamondbacks have managed a total of nine baserunners and struck out 21 times in 14 innings against a pair of Dodgers lefties.

Oh, and they’ll get another lefty, Rich Hill, when they look to avoid a three-game sweep on Thursday night.

“I believe in our offense,” Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said.
