Anybody want to help me out here? Because I can’t figure out why Tony Reagins isn’t running a baseball team.
The status of Reagins, who is Black, is part of an embarrassing diversity problem for baseball when it comes to African American participation.
There hasn’t been a Black starting catcher in a generation. There are two Black managers. There was one Black player in the World Series. Only about 7.5 % of players are African American. And there’s only one African American running a baseball operation, Kenny Williams of the Chicago White Sox.
