In most years, a pair of rough exhibition games at the end of spring training wouldn’t elicit much reaction from anyone involved. But after getting destroyed for a second consecutive night at Dodger Stadium, the Diamondbacks weren’t mincing words.
“Look, I can’t sugarcoat it; we didn’t play good baseball,” Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said after a 12-1 bludgeoning at the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers. “I’m not going to sit here and try to fool you guys.
“We didn’t play the way we could. We didn’t play Diamondback baseball. I think these guys are going to understand what they got to do over the next few days to make sure we’re ready to go.
