Diamondbacks' Zack Greinke won't participate in All-Star Game due to 'personal matter'

Diamondbacks right-hander Zack Greinke will not participate in Tuesday's All-Star Game due to a personal matter, manager Torey Lovullo confirmed Saturday.

The news was first announced by MLB in a tweet early Saturday that said Greinke and Josh Hader would be replaced by Felipe Vazquez and Brandon Woodruff on the National League roster.

After Greinke tossed seven shutout innings in an 8-0 win over the Colorado Rockies on Friday at Chase Field, there were some thinking Greinke (10-3, 2.73 ERA) could be named the NL's starter.

Now, he won't be in Cleveland at all.
