The Diamondback traded outfielder Michael Bourn to the Baltimore Orioles, a deal that would make him eligible to be on their postseason roster, should they make it that far. The D-Backs acquired minor-league outfielder Jason Heinrich in the deal.
Bourn, whom the Diamondbacks signed as a minor-league free agent in May, has been a solid contributor for them. Though he has not contributed much offensively – he owns just a .261/.307/.362 line in 358 plate appearances – he did deliver several timely hits and played well defensively in center field, where the Diamondbacks had been without starter A.
