TORONTO – The Diamondbacks finished a noncompetitive sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays with a noncompetitive victory on Sunday afternoon. Their 8-2 win – and the two that came before it – felt more like a reflection on the Blue Jays than an indication of how well the Diamondbacks are playing.
That will not be the case with what’s up next. On Monday evening, the Diamondbacks will open a three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies, a team that added stars Bryce Harper and J.T. Realmuto in the offseason and has spent the majority of the first two months of the season in first place in the National League East.
