Pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report on February 17th, with the first full-squad workouts on the Monday after that, the 22nd. However, it’s not going to be as fan-friendly as previous years, all workouts being closed to the public. Even media access will be significantly reduced, with Zoom calls being the order of the day, as it was during the regular season. As we noted earlier in the week, it’s unclear if fans will be permitted to attend games, with spring training ticket sales having been suspended. But right now, it appears MLB is going ahead with the intention of progressing towards a full 162-game season, beginning April 1.
