In anticipation of their series finale against the Padres on Sunday, the Arizona Diamondbacks have reinstated Gabriel Moreno from the 10-day IL. As part of a corresponding roster move, the D-backs have designated C Carson Kelly for assignment
During late July, Gabriel Moreno was placed on the IL due to a shoulder problem. Prior to his IL placement, Moreno had been esteemed as one of the premier defensive catchers in the National League. Moreover, the 23-year-old had maintained his consistency at the plate, boasting a .270 season batting average.
Conversely, veteran C Carson Kelly has fallen short of meeting expectations since joining the Diamondbacks in June.
