Diamondbacks pitcher Archie Bradley says family is ‘lucky’ after COVID-19 scare

Diamondbacks closer Archie Bradley believes the return of baseball can help people heal after they were scarred by the coronavirus pandemic. He knows, he said, because he went through it himself.

Bradley said on Friday both of his parents and his younger brother contracted COVID-19. His mom, Pam, and brother, Alex, had asymptomatic or mild cases, but his dad, Charles, needed a 10-day hospital stay to recover.

“We were lucky,” Bradley said. “I am able to take a step back and realize that there were a lot of people who weren’t as lucky as myself with their family members and loved ones.
