With Starling Marte missing from camp for a third consecutive day, Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said he was unable to comment on the status of his new center fielder.
The Diamondbacks announced on Wednesday that they had a new positive COVID-19 test on Wednesday, though they were unable to identify the player. Teams are not permitted to identify players who have tested positive for the virus without going through certain protocols, including receiving permission from the player himself.
It is, of course, unclear if Marte has tested positive; the club already has had players miss time at camp for reasons other than positive tests.
