Madison Bumgarner will make his return from the injured list in a familiar place: San Francisco.
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Bumgarner will start Saturday against the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park, the same ballpark he called home for the first 11 seasons of his career.
It will be Bumgarner’s first start against his old team. He signed a five-year, $85 million deal with the Diamondbacks in December.
Bumgarner has not pitched since Aug. 9, when he took the ball in San Diego despite feeling discomfort in his back, an injury the club termed a “mid-back strain.
