After finding out in December he’d be playing first base for the Diamondbacks this season, Jake Lamb figured there was no better person to learn from than the man he’d be replacing.
“It was kind of the obvious thing to give him a call,” Lamb said.
And so, in an act of generosity befitting his reputation, Paul Goldschmidt helped the man who would be replacing him for the team that just traded him.
