Diamondbacks hitters Jake Lamb (left shoulder) and Steven Souza Jr. (right pectoral) are progressing with optimistic views of their respective rehabilitation processes.
Lamb, who injured his left shoulder on April 3 against the Dodgers, played in an extended spring training game on Tuesday and took multiple at-bats as a designated hitter.
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo was in attendance at Salt River Fields and said he was encouraged by Lamb’s performance.
“I went out and watched Jake this morning at Salt River,” Lovullo said. “I saw a couple of the at-bats, and even though he wasn’t very satisfied with them, I’m not so concerned about the results.
