The team announced Mark Snipp and Tim Wilken have been named as special assistants to Senior Vice President and General Manager Dave Stewart, that former Cy Young winner Pete Vuckovich has been added as a pro scout and that Luis Gonzalez has been promoted to Senior Advisor to President and CEO Derrick Hall.
Snipp was a national crosschecker and special-assignment scout for the Reds from 2006-15. He worked for the Angels and White Sox as a scout and was an area supervisor, national crosschecker and assistant scouring director for the Blue Jays.
Wilken spent the past 10 seasons with the Cubs as director of amateur and professional scouting (2006-12) and special assistant to the president and general manager (2012-15).
