On the day one Diamondbacks player returned from a COVID-19 absence, another went down with the virus, with manager Torey Lovullo telling reporters on Wednesday that the club experienced its fourth 40-man roster positive test.
The Diamondbacks did not reveal the identity of the player, but center fielder Starling Marte has not been seen by reporters at workouts on either Tuesday or Wednesday.
However, it is worth noting that there were four players absent from the first three workouts of camp – outfielders David Peralta and Kole Calhoun and relievers Kevin Ginkel and Junior Guerra – and at least one of those players, Peralta, did not test positive.
