The Diamondbacks’ season thus far has been an exercise in stagnation, steps forward followed by steps back. Their series this week at Coors Field, which concluded with Wednesday’s 13-7 victory over the Colorado Rockies, provided the same sort of mixed messaging.
The bright spots were hard to miss: They took two of three from a Rockies team that somehow had not yet lost a series this season, an impressive feat for a team that had difficulty pitching and playing defense over the past three days. It was the Diamondbacks’ second series victory in the past week and gave them five wins in their past eight games.
