Diamondbacks drop home opener to Reds after emotion-filled rally

His moonshot home run had only just cleared the fence in right field when Eduardo Escobar unleashed his first fist pump in what would be an emotional trip around the bases, one filled with screams and chest bumps and the like.

The Diamondbacks lost again on Friday night, but they did so with feeling. They trailed early and fought back. They forced extras but ultimately succumbed, 6-5, in 10 innings to the Cincinnati Reds, giving the first crowd at Chase Field in some 18 months an entertaining game to digest.

At 2-6, the Diamondbacks are off to their worst start since 2014.
