Earlier today, the Diamondbacks traded for Brad Ziegler again. Hours later, they complete the one and most glaring need on the roster that they can fix by adding a solid LH arm for the bullpen in Jake Diekman. Diekman pitched the 9th inning of last night’s game against the Dbacks and sliced through the middle of the Dbacks order. On the season as a whole, Diekman has pitched to a 3.69 ERA in 39 innings with a K/BB of 48/23.
The main domino effect is that allows the Dbacks to pick and choose their spots to utilize Andrew Chafin, a reliever who’s putting up solid numbers unless asked to come into games with runners on base.
